Kaylee Jensen was named a second-team CoSIDA Academic All-American in 2017 and is carrying a 3.82 GPA in nutritional sciences/allied health. She was named the Big 12 Women’s Basketball Scholar-Athlete of the Year in 2017 and was tabbed as a first-team Academic All-Big 12 pick as a junior and sophomore.

Jensen became the first Cowgirl to earn academic All-America status since 2008. She was selected as the league’s scholar-athlete of the year for women’s basketball in a vote of the league’s coaches.

Character

Jensen was elected team captain for both her junior and senior seasons.

Community

Jensen was a participant in the United Way Day of Caring and a Coaches vs. Cancer Swish Night. She has made visits to the children’s hospital with members of the Cowgirl program throughout her career. Recently she and her teammates helped sort goods for the Salvation Army and have recently spent time with the folks at MPower, an organization which provides services to individuals with developmental disabilities.

Competition

Jensen was named a first-team All-Big 12 selection in 2017. She led the league in scoring (18.7 ppg), rebounding (10.5 rpg) and double-doubles (17) as a junior. She earned Big 12 Player of the Week honors on Nov. 14 and was also chosen as the College Sports Madness Big 12 Player of the Week on two occasions. Jensen was named to the Play4Kay Shootout All-Tournament Team her junior season and was named a second-team All-Big 12 pick as a sophomore.
