Duncan earned Academic All-Big Ten honors in 2019, also earning Dean’s List honors in the fall semesters of 2018 and 2019.

Character

Duncan is a member of the Team Leadership Group during the 2020-21 season. He joined the program as a walk-on and earned a scholarship in 2019.

Community

Duncan has volunteered at countless organizations during his time at Iowa. These include Play 2B Fit, Salvation Army, Iowa Dance Marathon, Hawkeye Pride, Hawkeye Readers, Children’s Museum, UI Football Blood Drive, Crisis Center Pancake Breakfast, Ronald McDonald 5K, and Iowa Student-Athlete Day of Caring. He has also visited local hospitals, including the Iowa Children’s Hospital and the local VA Hospital.

Competition

Duncan had an excellent season in 2019-20, culminating in consensus first team All-American honors by Football Writeers, the Associated Press, Sporting News, The Athletic, and Phil Steele. He also earned second team All-America status from Walter Camp Foundation and the American Football Coaches Association.

He was named the Bakken-Anderson Kick of the Year in the Big Ten Conference in 2019-20, and was one of three finalists for the Lou Groza Award, In addition to his All-American status, Duncan earned first team All-Big Ten honors from the league coaches, media, the Associated Press, and Phil Steele. He recieved the Hayden Fry Award for special teams, the Reggie Roby Special Teams Award, and was named the Big Ten Special Teams Player of the Week three times.

Duncan was one of three players honored as a Lou Groza Award Star of the Week, which he did three times. He set an Iowa and Big Ten Conference single-season record with 29 field goals, which ranked sixth all-time in the NCAA and led the nation in 2019-20. He also ranks third in single-season scoring (119) and 14th in career scoring (184).
