Classroom

Smith owns a 3.74 GPA in her pursuit of a sport management degree. Throughout her academic career, she has earned a spot on the C-USA Honor Roll three times, WKU President’s List three times, and WKU Dean’s List twice.

She has also been named an NFCA All-America Scholar Athlete and is a Conference USA Academic Medal recipient.

Character

The decision to come to The Hill was an easy one for Kendall Smith, who went to nearby Warren East High School. She is as dependable as they come, extending both to her time on the field and giving back outside the sport.

She is the kind of determined that everyone hopes to see in their leader.

Community

Smith is a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. She’s also involved with the local softball teams, helping coach a travel team and giving lessons to players and sharing the game she loves.

As a part of the WKU Softball team, Smith has visited elementary schools to read to students in addition to participating in an annual Southern Kentucky Special Olympics Softball game.

Competition

Across her first three seasons at WKU, Smith has tallied a .293 batting average, .546 slugging percentage, .392 on-base rate, and .994 fielding mark. She’s started all 129 games of her career, racking up 104 hits and scoring 79 runs to go along with 90 RBI.

Smith owns 22 doubles, one triple, and 22 career home runs in addition to drawing 56 walks and stealing 11 bases. She’s added eight sacrifice flies and five sacrifice hits, as well.

Smith was named to the 2019 C-USA All-Conference first team and earned third team NFCA All-Region honors. In 2020, she was a pre-season All-Conference USA Team selection.
