Classroom

Dooley maintains s a 3.52 GPA in History and last year he earned Dartmouth’s Class of 1950 Award for the student-athlete who has demonstrated the most extraordinary commitment to community service. He has also studied for 15 weeks in South Africa, where he attended the Multiculturalism and Human Rights Program. While there, he spent time in four different homesteads and completed a month-long independent study. Dooley participates in Dartmouth’s Men’s Forum, which is a weekly group that meets and discusses issues related to men of various backgrounds and how they can better serve Dartmouth and their own communities.

Character

Dooley is in his second season as a captain of the Big Green lacrosse team and is the only two-time captain on the 2011-12 squad. He consistently helps organize the team’s offseason workouts and helps get the team involved in community-service projects. He serves as a writing tutor and teaching assistant for freshmen writing courses. He also participated in the Dartmouth Peer Leadership Campus Dialogues.

Community

Dooley has participated in numerous community and charitable activities. He helped organize the fundraising efforts for his fraternity for The Prouty Bike Ride. He participates in Big Green Readers, where Dartmouth athletes go and read to school children in the community, and he and the rest of the Dartmouth men’s lacrosse team visit David’s House, a place where families can stay while a son or daughter receive treatment at the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center. Recently, Dooley and the team have been visiting a child named Michael. After his freshman season, Dooley served as a volunteer coach for Norwich Youth Lacrosse.

Competition

Dooley is a three-year starter for the Big Green, having played in 40 games and started 27. In his junior season, he was named first team All-NEILA and was an honorable-mention All-Ivy selection. He is currently on a 14-game point streak and totaled 14 goals and 19 assists for 33 points last season, which all marked career highs. For his career, he has 36 goals and 34 assists, totaling 70 points.
