Kirstyn Sperry is a six-time dean’s list honoree and three-time NEC Academic Honor Roll selection with a Commissioner’s Honor Roll distinction in 2017. The senior finance major holds a 3.77 GPA.

Character

“Sperry holds herself to the highest standards on and off the court. She is diligent and demanding of herself and continues to reach higher goals in the classrooms. An example of this is her desire to add accounting as a second major to an already tough finance curriculum. A leader in the weight room, she is constantly pushing her teammates to be better prepared for the court. A full participant in our Special Olympics volunteer program, you will see her brightly coaching the youngsters and sharing her knowledge of the game.” - Head Coach Theresa Garlacy

Community

Sperry has continued Bryant’s long-standing tradition of working with Special Olympics Rhode Island, whose state headquarters are located a mile from the Bryant campus. The volleyball program leads a department-wide partnership with Special Olympics by organizing weekly clinics during the spring season and all-sports events in the fall and spring. Sperry has also been involved in leading National Girls & Women in Sports Day clinics.

Sperry has contributed to charitable endeavors in her native Arizona including Christmas toy drives for the Salvation Army, an arts and crafts event for children, 5K runs for cancer research and volunteering at local food pantries.

Competition

In 2017, Sperry was named NEC Setter of the Year and a first-team All-Conference honoree, and she helped the Bulldogs to their first NEC regular-season championship. She is a co-captain and part of the most wins through three years in Bryant’s Division I history.
