Wassell has maintained a 4.00 career GPA,  along with six straight semesters on Dean’s Honor List, and became UNLV’s first-ever women’s soccer player to be named CoSIDA Academic All-American (3rd team). That’s on top of having graduated from high school a year early. Has held the top GPA at UNLV of all athletes the past three years, is a 3-time Academic All-Mountain West and MW Scholar-Athlete honoree. Twice named CoSIDA Academic All-District. Has received several academic scholarships from UNLV over her four seasons as well.

Character

A leader by example, Wassell is well respected by her teammates, coaches and professors not only for her commitment, but in her integrity, work ethic, organization, unselfishness and personal accountability. Kylie has the uncanny ability to make the people around her better. Her leadership and attention to detail are both outstanding and integral to her success on and off the field. She is a person of strong morals who has represented the UNLV Community with dignity and class. Community

Wassell has volunteered with several community service events, both with the UNLV team and on her own. Some of her volunteer work includes working with the Boys and Girls Club, volunteer coach for E-Soccer, Women of Excellence, 100 Black men, a reader for the Rebel Reading Challenge, troop Volunteer with the Girl Scouts, a reader for the Wassell Academy, a volunteer with the UNLV sports clinics on National Girls and Women in Sports Day, and has helped with canned food drives at UNLV as well. Was also named as a Top 20 Under 20 in the city of Las Vegas by Vegas Seven Magazine.

Competition

Wassell has started every single game at UNLV since her freshman season, with her first start coming the day after she turned 17. She posted a career-best season in 2012, with a .90 GAA and a school-record 10 shutouts, and was the only goalkeeper in the Mountain West to earn all-conference honors. In her career she has 19 shutouts, 217 saves and a 1.09 career GAA, and has earned three MW Player of the Week honors over her three seasons as well. She ranked 66th in the nation in 2012 in GAA, and helped UNLV rank 28th overall in shutout percentage (0.50).
