Held is pursuing a marketing degree at DePaul and carries a 3.62 GPA. She has been named the BIG EAST Scholar-Athlete of the Year.

Held has also been named to the All-BIG EAST first team, CoSIDA Academic All-District first team, NACDA Scholar-Athlete Team, and received the BIG EAST Sport Excellence Award.

Character

Held is an extremely compassionate individual. She goes out of her way to help others and routinely puts the needs of others ahead of her own. Held is a soft-spoken woman whose understand and subtle sense of humor leaves her teammates laughing.

Held leads be example, silently signaling her teammates to follow her actions. One aspect of her character is her courage to take on the greatest burden under maximum pressure. Held keeps a cool personality regardless of if she has made a game-winning shot or created a costly turnover.

Community

Held has been a frequent volunteer at DePaul. She participates in multiple events with the Special Olympics and has also volunteered for the Sheffield Garden Walk, Misericordia Home Candy Drive, Chicago Park District Fitness Fest, Hoops in the Hood, and St. Vincent de Paul Service Day.

In addition, Held has made blankets for underprivileged children at the St. Vincent de Paul Day Care Center, as well as volunteered at the Chicago Marathon.

Competition

Held has received numerous accolades for her play at DePaul, including two all-conference first team selections. She was also named the 2020 BIG EAST Tournament MVP after leading the Blue Demons to a victory over Marquette in which she scored a career-high 31 points.

Last season, Held was among the BIG East’s leading scorers as she averaged 16.6 points per game. She also led the vaunted DePaul full-court press, finishing fifth in the country in steals (75). The Blue Demons ranked eighth in the country in forcing turnovers with more than 22 per game.

Held became a 1,000-point scorer halfway through her junior year and has scored in double figures in every game but one.
