Kania is currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Data Science while also serving as a graduate teaching assistant for Data Engineering.
Character
Kania is a two-time assistant captain for the Bears, as he enters his second consecutive year being elected by his teammates.
He is the first goalie since the early 1990s to wear a letter for Brown.
Community
Kania is Brown Hockey’s Team IMPACT representative.
He has also been a mentor at the Vartan Gregorian School while at Brown, where he visits local elementary schools to see the students and encourage both learning and teamwork.
Competition
Entering his fifth year at Brown, Kania has played in 40 career games while starting 39. He was injured and missed most of the season in 2018-19.
Through three games this season, Kania holds a career 3.01 GAA and .903 save percentage. His three career shutouts are tied for fifth-most in program history.
