Monahan is an outstanding student-athlete who majors in data analytics and minors in mathematics, holding a 3.9 GPA.

A three-time Drake Dean’s list selection, Monahan was also namedto the Missouri Valley Conference All-Academic honorable mention team in 2019-20.

Monahan is a member of the campus’ math honor society and a women in STEM group and will pursue a master’s degree in business analytics. After Drake, Monahan wants to work in sports analytics.

Character

Monahan is a self-made player that just shows up to work every single day. Monahan truly has the capacity to love unconditionally and see the best in all of her teammates. Monahan has balanced the high demands on the court, in the classroom, while also contributing to almost 4,000 hours of community service throughout her career. Community

Monahan has balanced the high demands on the basketball court and in the classroom, while also contributing to almost 4,000 hours of community service throughout her career at Drake. Prior to COVID-19 outbreak, the program performed 1,000 community service hours annually in Drake and Des Moines communities.

Monahan is a leader of a bible study of a campus ministry group and has also volunteered with several local organizations, including Meals From the Heartland, Habitat for Humanity, Grand Blue Mile – Drake Relays, Food Bank of Iowa and Hope Des Moines Church.

Competition

Monahan has played in 105 career games heading into MVC play this season, including starting 103 straight games.

Among the league’s leaders in assists per game the last two seasons, Monahan is just outside Drake’s top-10 in career assists with 375.

This year, Monahan averages a career-high 16.3 points per game. Monahan has scored nearly 700 career points and has three 20-plus scoring games this season, including a career-high 28 points at then No. 21 Texas on 12/18/2020.
