Character

According to Head Coach Mark Barnard, “Mary-Kate is an exemplary person in all aspects. Considering the accolades she has received in volleyball, her humbleness is the thing that stands out the most. She is a very, very humble, extremely good player. Mary-Kate is one of the nicest people you’ll ever meet. She understands her place on the team as the go-to player and believes in her ability to get the point when the team needs her, but she does that and knows that with no ego.”

Community

Marshall is one of the leaders on the Oregon State team in community relations. Among other things, she has spent time at Oak Creek Correctional, participated in Relay for Life and most recently helped collect Back to School Supplies and coordinated her team’s delivery of the supplies to Community Outreach, Inc., a homeless shelter in Corvallis.

Competition

Marshall is the fourth-leading active player in kills (1,531) and ranks third in Oregon State history in kills with an outside shot at setting the school record. She earned Pac-12 Freshman of the Year, AVCA Region Freshman of the Year and was an all-conference selection as a rookie in 2014. As a junior in 2016, she was an All-Pac-12 First Team selection, AVCA All-Region First Team and AVCA All-America Honorable Mention.
