Michael Kim is a 2017-18 AHCA Division I All-American Scholar, a three-time Hockey East All-Academic Team selection and was named to the 2017 Hockey East All-Academic All-Star Team.
Character
Kim is a two-time team captain.

Community
Kim has helped with various events in the community such as Toys for Tots and Skate with the East Coast Jumbos, which is a a special-needs hockey team.
Competition
Kim was a 2018 third-team Hockey East All-Star and led all BC defensemen in scoring with 20 points, tallying 16 points (four goals and 12 assists) in 24 Hockey East games played. He finished second on the team with 39 blocked shots, tied for second in plus/minus with a +10 rating, and tied for third on the club with the most multiple-point performances (5).
