Classroom

Anosike has a 3.24 cumulative GPA. He posted a 3.7 GPA as a junior and was a two-time Dean’s List selection. He is a 2012 National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Honors Court selection and a 2012 MAAC Honor Roll selection. Anosike is on pace to graduate with honors in May. He was the Leo Dufort Student-Athlete of the Month (December 2011) and the MAAC Student Athlete of the Week (Feb. 7, 2012).

Character

Anosike is the team captain. As a leader on court and off, he is the face of the program and a great representative of the university. Anosike comes from single parent household and has seven siblings, including former Tennessee standout and current WNBA player Nicki Anosike.. He is an active member of Siena’s Student Athlete Advisory Committee and plays with great class and sportsmanship.

Community

Anosike is a leader in Siena’s “Saints in the Community” Program. He has volunteered his time with the Northeast Regional Foodbank, the Ronald McDonald House, the Adopt-A-School Program (visiting and corresponding with area students), the Childern’s Hospital at Albany Medical Center, the Colonie Shooting Stars (Basketball league for special needs children) and the Troy After School Program.

Competition

One of top returning post players in country, as a junior Anosike led the nation in rebounding (12.5 rpg). He was a first Team All-MAAC selection and a first team NABC All-District pick. He was named to the Lou Henson (Mid-Major) All American Team and was featured in the NCAA Final Four program. His streak of 17 consecutive double-doubles from Nov. 21 - Feb. 3 was the longest in program history, and second longest in Division I in the last 15 years. He is on pace to become just the third player in program history with 1,000 points and 1,000 rebounds. Anosike is the CBS New York MAAC Preseason Player of the Year.
