Character

Greenwell has been a true leader since arriving on campus. She was first named captain as a redshirt junior and is once again captain as a redshirt senior. She is generally the first one out for practice, taking extra shots outside of practice, and the last to leave after practice. Greenwell earned the Iron Blue Devil Belt in the fall of 2015 for her preseason conditioning and strength training. She sets the tone for everyone in workouts and games. She leads by example and is very well-liked around the nation.

Community

Greenwell was a member of the Duke Children’s Marketing Committee her senior year. The group raised over $2,000 by partnering with local businesses to help support the Duke Children’s Hospital. She has made other trips to the Duke Children’s Hospital with the team, spent time at the Ronald McDonald House and Camp Kaleidoscope. She has volunteered at the Durham Regent Retirement home and served at Urban Ministries as well.

Competition

One of the top players in collegiate basketball, Greenwell has amassed 1,485 points, 581 rebounds, 228 three-pointers, 216 assists and 164 steals over the last three years. She is a two-time All-ACC First Team selection and became the fifth player in ACC history to register 70+ three-pointers made in each of her first three years. It took her only 67 games to reach 1,000 points for her career, which was the fourth-quickest mark in Duke history. Greenwell has started all 98 contests she has played at Duke. She is a John R. Wooden, Naismith and USBWA candidate for National Player of the Year. Greenwell holds the Duke record for most three-pointers made (8) and attempted (16) in a game and, as of nomination time, needs only 25 three-pointers to break the Blue Devil all-time mark.
