Weissheier is an extremely dedicated student-athlete. He earned Hofstra Athletic Director Scholars Academic Honor Roll, Hofstra Dean’s List, and CAA Commissioner’s Academic Honor Roll accolades during his undergraduate career.

He is pursuing an MBA, where he is in his second semester of studies. Weissheier earned a 4.0 GPA in his first semester of graduate school.

Character

Weissheier is a team leader on and off the field. Even though he is not the most vocal, he always displays high character and is a leader by example.

Both of Weissheier’s brothers played baseball at Hofstra, as well.

Community

Since arriving at Hofstra, Weissheier has been active in the community outreach. He has volunteered at the Center For Science, Hofstra’s New Student Move-In Day, Hofstra Admissions Open Houses, and Teaching and Leaning Spooky Fest.

On Long Island, Weissheier has participated in Hofstra’s annual Shake-A-Rake event, as well as clean-up efforts at Lido Beach.

He volunteered with the Arthritis Foundation Jingle Bell Run, an event that was annually held on Hofstra’s campus.

With Big Brothers Big Sisters of Long Island, Weissheier has served as a clinician at several clinics.

Competition

Heading into 2021, Weissheier was selected as a preseason All-CAA honorable mention.

In 2020, he had a .361 BA before play was halted.

Weissheier is a four-year starter, and five-year member, of Hofstra’s team. For his career, he has a .251 BA, 28 doubles, 18 home runs, and five triples.

He also has 84 RBIs, which is just shy of cracking the top 10 in program history.
