Rosanna Reynolds was named the Co-Horizon League Scholar Athlete of the Winter in 2015-16. She has twice been named to the Horizon League Winter All-Academic Team and has earned Horizon League honor roll laurels in each semester eligible. Reynolds holds a 3.72 GPA and is enrolled in a five-year MBA program at the university.

Character

A two-year co-captain, Reynolds has come back from a major knee injury during her career to compete at the highest level. She has earned the Athletic Department’s Dad Butler Award twice during her career, which is presented to a male and female student-athlete who shows dedication to practice and having the ability to rehabilitate an injury to his or her fullest capabilities. Reynolds was presented with the Titan Club Award at the UDM Awards Banquet, which is given to a male and female student-athlete on the merits of athletic performance and academic excellence.

Community

Reynolds is part of all Detroit Mercy women’s basketball community service projects, including assisting with raising money for the Flint Water Crisis last season as well as reading to students at a local elementary school, among other service initiatives.

Competition

Reynolds is a two-time all-conference performer, including first team honors in 2015-16 as a junior. She ranked No. 15 all-time in program history with 1,226 career points entering her senior season and ranked fifth all-time in assists. Prior to this season, she was named the Horizon League Preseason Player of the Year and had started all 97 games during career. Reynolds ranked second on the squad in scoring last season and finished third in the Horizon League in assists per game (5.0), while ranking second in assist-to-turnover ratio (2.1). She also was 14th in the NCAA in free throw percentage (87.2) last year and set a new school record with 15 assists in a game. As a freshman, Reynolds was selected to the Horizon League All-Newcomer Team.
