Character

“Samantha Logic is an elite basketball player, but make no mistake, she understands that her character is of more importance. Logic has such great integrity; she is honest, helpful, and she is a role model in every sense of the word. It doesn’t matter win or lose, she will have crowds of young admirers crowded around her post-game. She takes time with each of them and treats them with the same kindness whether we have won or lost. Logic is highly respectful and knows everyone, it doesn’t matter if you are the AD or the janitor in Carver-Hawkeye Arena, she is going to treat you and greet you the same way. I have rarely had an athlete that embraces the value of her teammates as much as she does. It is through her positive belief in each of them that has raised the level of our team’s confidence. She is also one of the most unselfish players I have ever been around. She values the assist as much as the basket, as evidenced by her Iowa career assist record, which she broke as a junior.” – Iowa Head Coach Lisa Bluder

Community

Logic has been involved in the following programs: Habitat for Humanity – Women’s Build, Hawkeye PRIDE/Community School Tutoring Program, Hope Lodge, 5K to Kinnick, Ronald McDonald House, Shelter House and Four Oaks Shelter. She also has participated in helmet awareness activities, visited hospitals and Skyped with kids in Spain to discuss playing sports/topics.

Competition

One of the nation’s top players, Logic was named a 2014-15 third-team All-American and a second-team ESPN All-American and was one of only 10 USBWA All-Americans in the country. She is the only player in NCAA history to accumulate at least 1,500 career points, 800 rebounds, 800 assists and 200 steals, and she finished her career as the NCAA’s active career assists leader (898) and second in Big Ten history. Also carving her name in the Iowa record books, Logic ranks first in program history in career assists and starts (135), second in steals (260) and rebounds (922), and 10th in scoring (1,546). Her six career triple-doubles mark the second-highest total in the history of NCAA women’s basketball and the most by any player as a member of the Big Ten.

As a junior, Logic earned honorable mention All-America honors from the Associated Press and WBCA and was a unanimous First-Team All-Big Ten selection. Also the 2014 Big Ten leader in assists, Logic was the only player in the nation to average 13 or more points (13.3), six or more rebounds (6.6), and seven or more assists (7.5). She led the Big Ten in league play in assists (8.0) and steals (3.0) and was named Big Ten Player of the Week three times.

A team captain as both a junior and a senior, Logic was also a unanimous selection for the Big Ten All-Freshman Team in 2011-12.
