Hamson has already earned her degree from BYU, graduating with a 3.60 GPA in bioinformatics.
She was a WCC All-Academic Team selection and a four-time WCC Honor Roll recipient.
Character
Hamson leads the Cougars by example, exhibiting quiet confidence while continuing to improve her craft.
She comes from a family with BYU ties as her mother and two sisters have all played sports at the school.
Community
Hamson is a team captain for the Cougars. She consistently finds opportunities for service and leadership throughout the area.
Hamson is involved in BYU’s Better Together Initiative that champions women in sports.
Competition
Hamson is one of the best defensive players in the country. She is a two-time WCC Defensive Player of the Year and has led the conference in blocks for four consecutive seasons. She averages 3.5 blocks per game for her career and is the NCAA’s active leader in the category.
Hamson has also helped BYU to two NCAA tournaments and won a WCC tournament title with the Cougars.
