Soren Jonzzon has been named to Quinnipiac University’s Dean List in each of the semesters he has been enrolled and is a three-time ECAC Hockey All-Academic honoree. Jonzzon is a recipient of the 2015 Capital One Academic All-District 1 Men’s At-Large First Team by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). He is a finalist for the 2015 ECAC Hockey Student-Athlete of the Year and is also a member of Quinnipiac’s Student Athlete Advisory Committee. Jonzzon serves as the Quinnipiac University Orientation leader and is a tutor in Quinnipiac University’s learning commons. He graduated with an undergraduate degree in biomedical sciences with a 3.94 grade-point average in May 2015 and will graduate in May 2016 with a masters in health science with a 4.00 GPA.

Character

Jonzzon was unanimously voted as a team captain by his teammates for the 2015-16 season.

Community

Jonzzon is a member of Quinnipiac’s Student Athlete Advisory Committee, a Quinnipiac University Orientation leader and a volunteer tutor in Quinnipiac University’s learning commons. Jonzzon has coordinated several community involvement events for the Quinnipiac men’s ice hockey team, including youth hockey clinics and visits to elementary schools.

Competition

Jonzzon is a senior captain who has scored four goals and eight assists for 12 points as of January 27, 2016, and ranked among the national leaders in plus/minus (+16). As a junior in 2014-15, Jonzzon enjoyed a career year, posting all-time highs in goals (5), assists (7) and points (12).
