Classroom
Johnson has twice been named to the MAAC All-Academic team. She carries a 3.54 cumulative GPA and has landed on the Dean’s List every semester during her time at Rider.
Character
Johnson is entering her third season as a captain of the Rider University women’s basketball team. She prides herself on being the hardest worker on the team.
Community
Throughout her time, Johnson has taken part in several community service initiatives. She has handed out food at Thanksgiving dinners, traveled to the senior citizen center to play Bingo, worked with Meals on Wheels on campus, worked in the food pantry on campus and taken part in several basketball clinics. During the team’s trip to Puerto Rico, she did community service projects at two local high schools.
Competition
Johnson was the 2019 MAAC Player of the Year. She was also voted as the 2019-20 MAAC Preseason Player of the Year. Johnson has twice earned First Team All-MAAC honors and twice earned All-Metropolitan Basketball Writers Association honors. As a junior, she was First Team All-ECAC as well. Last season, she led the MAAC in PPG, three-point field-goal percentage and SPG. She is on pace to set the program scoring record this winter. Last season, she became just the second player in Rider history to record a triple-double. She has led Rider to its first two WNIT appearances in program history.
