Character

Tarron Jackson is the perfect example of a student-athlete, leading both on and off the field. A two-time team captain, he leads by example on the field with his play and statistics and leads off the field with his work in the classroom and the community.

Community

A Walter V. Campbell Trophy semifinalist, Jackson has worked with numerous charities and events over his time at Coastal Carolina including volunteering at events such as Tim Tebow’s “Night to Shine” Prom, Caring for Kindergartners, Black History Month Program, pumpkin drives, and Christmas events.

He has also served at Shepherd’s Table (Food Shelter) in Conway, “Be the Match” (Bone Marrow Drive) on campus, Centenary United Methodist Church-Pumpkin sale, and “Trunk or Treat” at Coastal Carolina University, while also serving on the leadership team of Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) at CCU.

Competition

Jackson has amassed many honors during his time at Coastal Carolina. He earned 2019-2020 All-Sun Belt first team honors, and was also recognized with first team honors by Phil Steele. In 2018-19, Jackson was voted to the All-Sun Belt third team.

Prior to the 2021-2021 season, Jackson was named to the Nagurski and Bednarik Award watch lists and earned College Football News preseason Sun Belt Defensive Player of the Year.. He also earned preseason All-Sun Belt first team honors from the Sun Belt Conference, College Football News, Phil Steele, Lindy’s Sports, and Athlon Sports. He was also put on the 2021 Reeses’ Senior Bowl Top 250 list.
