Classroom

Majoring in communication sciences, Cascio was a member of the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll Spring 2009, Spring 2010, Spring 2011 and received 2009 BIG EAST All-Academic honors.

Character

Cascio is a self-made entrepreneur. He spends his free time building engines and motorized scooters as a hobby for friends and family.

Community

Cascio participates in an afterschool reading program in the Bolton, Conn., school system; volunteers with the Northeast United soccer program in Connecticut; participates in the annual “Meet the Huskies” fundraising dinner, actively engaging with supporters of the UConn soccer program, and provides soccer instruction to youth club programs at various camps/clinics in the Storrs community.

Competition

Cascio finished the 2010 season with 26 points on 10 goals and six assists, second in the BIG EAST Conference in goals scored. He was an NSCAA/Performance Subaru Division I First Team All-American, a member of the Soccer America MVP Second Team, a College Soccer News First Team All-American and a MAC Hermann Trophy Semifinalist. He was named the College Soccer News National Player of the Week on Sept. 27. He was the 2010 BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Year and an All-BIG EAST First Team selection in both 2010 and 2009.
