Classroom

Tyler holds a cumulative 3.242 GPA in business management. He has earned numerous Big 12 Commissioner’s Honor Roll accolades, while he was named a Second Team Academic All-Big 12 recipient during the 2013 season.

Character

Tyler is a person of high integrity that constantly praises his teammates and coaches for his on-field accolades, as well as his tutors and academic leaders for his achievements in the classroom. He is also a man of faith and willingly shares his faith with others.

Community

Tyler is a member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Council (SAAC) through which he has visited retirement centers, participated in Cats in the Classroom as he reads to students or helps teachers with classroom activities, Adopt-a-Family during the holiday season and assist with elementary school carnivals. He was named to the AFCA Good Works team in 2013.

Competition

A two-year team captain, Tyler has been named an All-American each of his first three years at K-State. In 2013, Tyler caught 81 passes for 1,262 yards and 11 touchdowns as he is now on pace to break all three of the school’s career records in those categories, which are held by his father, Kevin.

He was also the 2013 Big 12 Special Teams Player of the Year and received votes for Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year. Prior to the 2014 season, Tyler was named to the watch list for the Maxwell Award, Biletnikoff Award, Walter Camp Award and Paul Hornung Award in addition to be named a Preseason All-Big 12 performer as both a wide receiver and kick returner.

Tyler holds the school record for career kickoff return yards (1,834), ranks second in career all-purpose yards (4,290), career kickoff-return average (31.1) and career kickoff-return touchdowns (4); ranks third in career 100-yard receiving games (9); fourth in career receptions (143) and career receiving touchdowns (18) and fifth in career receiving yards (2,195).
