Character

Riedell was voted as a team captain for the Buckeyes in his first year, one year after being an alternate captain at Lake Superior State. He helped lead the Lakers to a WCHA Tournament title and an NCAA appearance.

“How he’s shown up here since August – for a team to vote him into this position for being here two months that tells you what kind of individual he is. What he brings on the ice, off the ice, how he trains, reminds me a lot in a way of Tanner Laczynski. He shows up every day to be a pro. That’s how Riedell goes about his business.”
- Head Coach Steve Rohlik

Community

Riedell has worked with the Feeding America Food Drive during Thanksgiving while in Columbus. He helped provide meals to families in need.

Competition

Riedell has played in 144 collegiate games between his time at Lake Superior State and Ohio State. He has recorded 53 points on 18 goals and 35 assists.

In just his third game as a Buckeye, Riedell scored the overtime game-winner with only three seconds left. He is +19 in his career and has tallied 127 blocked shots.
