Alyssa Munlyn owns a cumulative 3.51 GPA and has earned the following academic recognitions: 2015-16 SEC First-Year Honor Roll, SEC Fall Academic Honor Roll (2016, 2017), and dean’s list honors (2016, 2017).
Character
Munlyn was named a 2018 Arthur Ashe Jr. Sports Scholar, is a member of 2018 Tiger Leadership Institute and is a member of Student-Athletes Fostering Equality (SAFE).
Community
Munlyn has accumulated 40-plus hours of community service in her Mizzou career, volunteering with the following events and causes: Caleb’s Pitch, University of Missouri Hospital visits, Mizzou Volleyball Black & Gold Youth Clinic, elementary school reading buddy program, ShowMe State Games, Special Olympics buddy and Soles 4 Souls.
Competition
Munlyn has received the following honors: AVCA Honorable Mention All-America (2015, 2016, 2017), AVCA All-Southeast Region (2015, 2016, 2017), All-SEC (2015, 2016, 2017), AVCA Southeast Region Freshman of the Year (2015), and SEC Freshman of the Year (2015).
Already in 2018, Munlyn became Mizzou’s all-time leader in career total blocks and block assists. She is an active Mizzou leader in career hitting percentage and blocks per set, as well. She became only one of two Tigers with 500-plus total career blocks and has received 11 weekly awards by the SEC in her career.
