Genetics & Genomics

Hilley received her undergraduate degree last December while specializing in genetics and genomics. She is now a graduate student in applied biotechnology during her fifth year as she hopes to become a cancer researcher.

Hilley has been appropriately recognized for her diligence in her studies both regionally and nationally. She was inducted into Chi Alpha Sigma, the national college athlete honor society, and was selected as a first team Academic All-American by CoSIDA three times. Hilley is also a two-time Athletic Board Scholar, three-time Big Ten Distinguished Scholar, and four-time Academic All-Big Ten recipient.

Hilley is a four-time team captain for the Badgers. She has been the team quarterback as the starting setter for four years while leading both on and off the court.

Hilley has volunteered over 18 hours of community service at Wisconsin.

She participated with the Special Olympics, Wish Upon a Badger, Randall Elementary Pen Pals, and the American Family Children’s Hospital. Hilley was also involved in the Saturday Science program with local schools in the area.

Hilley will end her career as one of the best to ever play at Wisconsin.

She has been named an AVCA All-American four times, earning first team honors on three separate occasions. Hilley is also a four-time AVCA All-Region and four-time All-Big Ten first team selection. She has been named the Big Ten Setter of the Year for the last three seasons, as well.

Hilley, who has only missed one match during her career for health and safety protocols, is the new program record-holder for career assists (6,029).
