Character

In addition to being a 3-year starter for the Dukes, Love has participated in the Tri-State Elite Volleyball Camps as a counselor and coach the past two years.  She also sat on a panel during that camp that described the college experience to girls looking to play volleyball in college. Love assisted US Olympic Gold Medalist Pat Powers with his volleyball clinic for young boys and girls when it was in Pittsburgh. Love also volunteered to help showcase Duquesne University and the City of Pittsburgh when the University hosted the North American Society for Sport Management International Conference May 2014.

Community

Love is a frequent volunteer at the Maple Heights Community Food Pantry in her hometown of Maple Heights, Ohio. She also plans to get involved with the Best of the Batch Foundation, a nonprofit organization devoted to improving the lives of children and families in distressed communities in Pittsburgh.

Competition

One of Duquesne’s most decorated student-athletes in program history, Love began her career by being named to the 2011 A-10 All-Rookie team as a freshman. In 2012, she was named to AVCA Northeast Region Honorable Mention in addition to A-10 First-Team All-Conference. In 2013 she became only the second player in team history to garnish A-10 First-Team All-Conference in back-to-back seasons. She currently is the program’s all-time leader with a .327 hitting percentage and set a single-season program record last year with a .371 hitting percentage. She capped her junior year in 2013 by leading Duquesne to its first-ever Atlantic 10 Championship and berth in the NCAA Championship.
