As a secondary education major, Obert was recently named to the 2013-14 BIG EAST All-Academic Team after posting a 3.934 grade point average last season. Her cum GPA is now at 3.533.

Character

Belle Obert is a natural leader with great personal integrity. She is selfless and and extremely committed to everything that she does. Belle is a great teammate, student, and player and she is an example for all to aspire to be. She is respected by all of her teammates and coaches as everyone has kind words to say about her. High character is without question one of her greatest assets and I truly enjoy coaching her everyday. - Head Coach Sharon Clark.

Community

Belle has been a part of a few different volunteering/community events throughout her time as a student-athlete at Butler. With the team, Belle has volunteered at Butler and at Shortidge H.S. for four different volleyball clinics. She volunteered at a carnival at Wheeler Elementary School.  Also she worked with the team on the Million Meal Marathon which were packed meals that were then handed out as Thanksgiving dinners in the area. Finally she has helped out at the Ronald McDonald house, visited children in the hospital and cleaned White River Park.

Competition

Obert has been an impact player for Butler from the very beginning. She was named to the 2011 Horizon League All-Newcomer Team as a freshman after recording six double-doubles and ranking third on the team in kills and fourth in points. She moved into the starting lineup for a majority of the season during her sophomore campaign, while posting six more double-double performances. Obert took her game to a new level as a junior, leading the Butler volleyball team into the BIG EAST Conference. She was a 2013 First Team All-BIG EAST selection and was also recognized as a 2013 BIG EAST Championship All-Tournament Team player. She led the team with 390 kills, averaging 3.45 kills per set. She ended the season ranked nationally in three different categories. Obert ranked 70th in points per set (4.28), 123rd in kills per set (3.45) and 145th in blocks per set (1.08). An all-around player, Obert started in all 32 matches, posted a .274 attack percentage, came up with 24 service aces, 231 digs and 122 blocks. She led the team with 484 total points and came up with six double-doubles.
