Brady Cox has a 3.34 cumulative GPA as a interdisciplinary studies major with focuses on history and health, and he was named to the 2014 Sun Belt Conference Academic Honor Roll.

Character

Cox is described as a physical and emotional leader of the UT Arlington team. He is a vocal mentor to younger players and earns praise from the coaching staff for his ability to be a coach on the field. Cox always strives to set a good example.

Community

Cox is highly active in the community. He has volunteered at his elementary school to work youth basketball tournaments and is currently a volunteer at many baseball and basketball camps in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. He has been active as a volunteer reader to elementary school kids for three different years in Liberal, Kansas.

Competition

Cox is one of the top catchers in collegiate baseball. He is a semifinalist for the 2016 Johnny Bench Award, given annually to the nation’s top catcher. He is also ranked third in the Sun Belt Conference in average (.354) and hits (81). Cox was a durable workhorse behind the plate due to being the only catcher on the roster in 2016, leading to his making 55 of UTA’s 58 starts behind the plate.
