Brent Herbst

Classroom

Herbst sports a 2.94 GPA in American studies. He was selected as a Mid-Atlantic Athletic Conference team member as a sophomore. He was also a recipient of the Siena College Male Rookie of the Year as a freshman for academics, athletics, and community standards.

Character

Herbst was able to step in as a freshman and make an immediate impact. He controls the defense with his communication on the field, and he has put forth great work ethic to become a decorated athlete.

Community

He is a volunteer at MVP Health Care’s Youth Lacrosse Clinic, at Albany’s Center for Disability Services telethon, and the Ronald McDonald House the past three years. In addition, he has spent time at White Oaks Nursing Home and Atria Assisted Living.

Competition

Herbst is a United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association honorable mention honoree last season after leading the team to its first ever Mid-Atlantic Athletic Conference championship and NCAA Tournament berth. He was named the MAAC Tournament Most Outstanding Player with a .786 save percentage. In his sophomore season, Herbst led the nation in GAA and ranked second in save percentage. He is a three time second team All-MAAC selection, eight time MAAC defensive Player of the Week, and MAAC Co-Rookie of the Year.
