Classroom

Brock Hale is a two-time All-Academic West Coast Conference selection and a two-time WCC Commissioner’s Honor Roll selection. He is slated to graduate in April 2019 with a degree in experience design and management from the BYU Marriott School of Business, a top-25 ranked business school.

Character

Hale is the undisputed leader of this year’s team and, despite feeling more comfortable out of the limelight, he has stepped into his role to turn around the culture of a team that was less than ideal last season. Married since 2016, Hale is a class-act and a worthy representative of BYU.

Community

Hale loves to serve. Last year he traveled to Curacao to do multiple services projects, include cleaning beaches and teaching children life lessons through baseball. He has also participated multiple years in Sports Hero Day, speaking to thousands of children who come to campus about being honest, kind, and hard-working.

Competition

A career .368 hitter with 162 hits, 31 doubles, seven triples, 21 home runs, 94 RBIs and 59 walks, Hale has been a contributor all three years of his career and is one of the top hitters in the country coming into 2018. An all-region selection in 2017 when he was fifth in the nation in batting average and 16th in slugging percentage, Hale was an All-WCC First Team honoree in 2018. He was named a 2019 preseason All-WCC selection by coaches and publications and is ranked a top senior and hitter by D1Baseball. Perfect Game calls him the “best pure hitter” in the WCC.
