Charley Dickenson

Classroom

Dickenson will graduate in June of 2010 with a degree in business real estate. His current GPA is 3.32, and he hopes to work in commercial real estate as a retail and office broker.

Character

Dickenson is highly respected by his teammates and has been selected to represent the lacrosse team as a member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, which is group made up of student-athletes assembled to provide insight on the student-athlete experience. Dickenson is also a member of the Denver University Real Estate Club.

Community

Throughout his three seasons at DU, Dickenson has participated with the DU men’s lacrosse team in several community projects including Denver City Lax, 9News’ 9Cares Colorado Shares Food Drive, Project Homeless, Connect, and more. For the 2008 9Cares Colorado Shares Food Drive, he and his teammates helped collect more than 220 tons of food and $111,300 in donations. With the Denver City Lax organization, Dickenson and his teammates made regular visits throughout the school year to local inner city elementary and middle schools to mentor the students and teach them the sport of lacrosse and the benefits of teamwork. As a volunteer for Denver’s Project Homeless Connect, he and his teammates helped more than 600 homeless people by providing them with basic medical care, food stamp benefits, veteran’s services, resume assistance, legal advice, haircuts, massages, and clothing.

Competition

Dickenson was chosen as a member of the 2009 Pre-season All-Eastern College Athletic Conference team in Denver’s first year as a member of the conference. In 2009, he led the Pioneers with 36 points on 14 goals and 22 assists, and his 1.57 assists per game average ranked him 16th in the nation. His 22 assists for the season ranked him sixth on Denver’s all-time single-season list.
