Classroom

Cody Triolo has enjoyed incredible success in the classroom, currently owning a cumulative GPA of 3.97 in the integrated business and engineering program, specifically civil engineering and finance. He was named Lehigh men’s lacrosse’s Scholar-Athlete of the Year in the spring of 2015 and has been named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll and Dean’s List (for a GPA of 3.6+) each and every season. Triolo has garnered the Faculty Athletics Council Award and has had three perfect 4.0 semesters.

Triolo has impressive experience in his field, most recently interning with Michael Baker International, Civil Engineering Consulting. While there he worked under the Vice President of the Greater Philadelphia Area and P.E.’s on both the business and engineering side of civil engineering. Triolo focused on structures, strategic planning, evening/cost analysis, project management, transportation and trails. The previous summer, Triolo interned with Spartan Polymers, Resin Distributor, learning about the plastics trading industry and creating case studies for Spartan Polymers to present to a variety of polypropylene/ethylene suppliers to prove loyalty, ratability and price consistency. After his days as an undergraduate, Triolo is planning on obtaining his master’s degree in structural engineering.

Character

Triolo has emerged as one of the team’s top leaders, being named one of three captains for the 2017 season. He is one of three lacrosse players in the integrated business and engineering program, which requires an even additional commitment—a commitment that rubs off on everyone around him. Tirol has been part of the Emerging Leaders and Leadership Legacies Program since the fall of 2015 as he was nominated and identified by the athletic department and his head coach as having leadership qualities and potential. As part of the programs, Triolo has collaborated with other student-athletes to become a better and more effective leader.

Triolo has also been a Student-Athlete Mentor since the spring of his freshman year, transitioning first-year student-athletes to Lehigh through leading workshops and group “huddles.”

Community

Triolo has given back as Lehigh lacrosse player. Just a few days into every fall semester, the Mountain Hawks hold their annual community service kickoff for the City of Bethlehem Parks and Recreation. This year, the team helped Bethlehem Parks and Recreation clean up around the Bethlehem Municipal Ice Rink. Triolo and the Mountain Hawks also host Community Night every fall when Lehigh opens its doors to all members of the community for an hour-long free lacrosse clinic. In addition, the Mountain Hawks spend time with the Reading Rocks program at local Donegan Elementary School. The whole team spends an hour with the students, helping them read before getting to know the youngsters through playing games and other activities.

Lehigh’s fall weekend of outside competition came at the HEADstrong University City Classic. The HEADstrong Foundation™ is a 501(c)(3) committed to improving the quality of life for cancer patients and their families through providing essential programs and services. Lehigh, along with every Lehigh Athletics team, took part in Adopt-A- Family where the Mountain Hawks provided a holiday for a local underprivileged family. The process included shopping for gifts, wrapping them and delivering them in early December.

Competition

Triolo has emerged into a strong contributor for the Mountain Hawks, seeing consistent time in the midfield. After playing five games as a freshman, he played in 15 games as a sophomore and tallied 12 groundballs and two goals. Both goals came in a big Patriot League win at Holy Cross. Triolo then played 10 games as a junior, missing some time due to injury, seeing time as a two-way midfielder who contributes offensively and defensively. He finished the season with two goals, two assists and five groundballs. Triolo scored a goal at Furman then returned from injury in a homecoming game at Princeton and tallied a goal and assist, also posting an assist vs. Cornell. Entering his senior season, he had played in 30 career games with four goals, two assists, 28 shots and 17 groundballs. Triolo is also expected to be one of the team’s top midfielders in 2017.
