Cole O’Connor

Dartmouth College

Cole O’Connor has maintained 3.24 GPA as a government major and is on track to graduate in June.

O’Connor was elected captain by his teammates for the second straight year. Said Head Coach Bob Whalen: “Cole possesses all of the attributes of a special player in that he is not only one of the best pitchers in our league, but is also one of the hardest-working. He exemplifies every day what coaches want in their captains and their seniors. He exhibits daily the trait of great leaders; he has the ability to make himself and all of those around him better.”

O’Connor volunteers with his teammates annually at the Special Olympics as well as the CHaD Hero half marathon and 5K races, which raise money for the Children’s Hospital at Dartmouth.

O’Connor received All-Ivy League Honorable Mention in 2018 as a starting pitcher going 5-4 with a 4.50 ERA. O’Connor tied for third in the conference with five wins, ranked fourth in innings pitched and fourth in fewest walks issued per nine innings. He struck out a career-high 10 batters in a win over Villanova last year, and Dartmouth won six of his seven conference starts in 2018.

O’Connor has been in the starting weekend rotation each of his first three seasons with consistent career stats: 9-8, 4.08 ERA, 156.2 IP, 31 BB, 88 K.
