Classroom

Muntz will earn a degree in molecular biology in the spring of 2010. He maintains a GPA of 3.167. This summer Muntz was selected from a nationwide pool to be a part of the Howard Hughes Medical Institute Molecular Biology Summer Program. As a member of a world-class research group, Muntz will take part in an original laboratory research project.

Character

Muntz is a model student-athlete. He was selected as team captain during his junior year, despite having six seniors on the squad. He has been selected again to lead the team in 2009. Muntz spends his free time working other Princeton athletic events and summer camps. Outside of soccer, Muntz plays the violin and is active in squash and tennis. Muntz has attended Alcohol Coalition Committee workshops at Princeton and aids his teammates with health concerns as a Student-Athlete Wellness Leader.

Community

A member of numerous community service projects, Muntz took the lead on the soccer segment of Communiversity, an annual cultural event in the community. He has helped raise money for charities as part of the Ivy Athletes Charity Team and has worked with Teams for Toys to collect and distribute toys for kids the last two Christmases. In addition, Muntz reads to children of an after-school program at the Princeton Public Library.

Competition

A two-year solo captain, Muntz has been named to the All-Ivy League teams all three years. He was named second-team All-Ivy League in 2006 and 2008 and was named All-Ivy Honorable Mention in 2007. A starter since his freshman year when he tallied 11 points, Muntz has made 49 career starts and collected 21 points.
