Classroom

Gabrielle Kelliher has been recognized on multiple occasions for her work in the classroom with a challenging medical technology major. In 2017, she was named CoSIDA second-team Academic All-American. The previous year, she was named a CoSIDA first-team Academic All-District honoree. She also has been named to the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Academic Honor Roll and the conference’s All-Academic team in each season she has been eligible to be recognized and named to Marist’s Dean’s List in all seven semesters she has been on campus. A 3.6 grade-point average is required for a student-athlete to recognized on the Dean’s List at Marist.

Character

Kelliher is seen as one of the leaders in the program. She is a 2018 team captain and is seen as a hard worker and one who has earned the respect of her teammates and coaches. She has demonstrated good leadership qualities through the example she sets.

Community

Kelliher has been involved in a considerable amount of community service activities in her four years at Marist. Some of these include participating in the Mid-Hudson Children’s Museum Halloween event, the Girl Scouts Sport Sampler (held on the Marist campus to give participants a taste of different women’s sports), the Haviland Sportsmanship Day at a local school and Wreaths Across America.

Competition

Kelliher has earned numerous accolades throughout her career. She has been named second-team All-Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference each of the last two seasons and was named NFCA second-team All-Region in 2017. In 2016, she was named to the MAAC All-Tournament Team after Marist won the conference championship and set a program record with 45 victories. She also led the team in home runs that season with 10. In 2015, Kelliher was also named to the MAAC All-Rookie team and has earned three MAAC weekly awards in her career.

She entered her senior season with a career batting average of .316, 28 career home runs and 90 career runs batted in. The home run total is tied for fourth place in program history, and she needs just six more to set a new program record.
