Character

Jermier is a two-time team captain and a well-respected member of the Marquette student body. She is one of the more vocal team leaders and has been a strong leader in the weight room and training room, as well as in the classroom and on the pitch. She has a zest for life that is apparent and her energy inspires her teammates. Jermier has a bright and cheery disposition and will go to great lengths to help others around her. She missed her first two seasons at Marquette with a broken foot followed by a torn ACL but did not let that deter her from becoming an all-conference performer. The enthusiasm and intensity she displayed during those two seasons greatly impacted the leader she has become. She was also a team captain of the 2015 WPSL Champion Chicago Red Stars Reserves.

Community

Since 2011 Jermier has worked as a coach with US Youth Soccer TOPSoccer, coaching children with cognitive and physical disabilities. She also volunteers at the Aurora Sinai Medical Center next to Marquette’s campus in the postpartum unit. In addition, Jermier served as a volunteer in Marquette’s Hunger Clean-Up initiative over the last three years as well as other department-wide volunteer activities. She is also a fund-raiser and participant in Relay for Life.

Competition

Jermier earned All-BIG EAST Conference Second Team honors as a defender in 2014 after starting all 21 matches and placing second on the squad with four goals. She also registered three assists on the year and notched 11 points, which was the fourth-highest total on the team. Jermier is a member of the 2014 BIG EAST Championship All-Tournament Team and was named BIG EAST Defensive Player of the week on Sept. 22, 2014, after MU’s 1-0 victory over previously undefeated No. 16 Kansas and a win over LSU. That following week, Jermier also earned BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll recognition. During her first season of action, Jermier played in 19 matches and posted three assists in 2013. Jermier is considered Marquette’s primary player on set pieces.
