Kahley Novak is a four-time Dean’s List member. She has been on the President’s List with a 4.0 GPA twice and has been named to the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll. She was a 2013 NFCA Division I Scholar Athlete and a two-time conference all-academic team selection. She has been a member of the Student-Athlete Leadership Institute for two years.

Character

Novak has been an active member in UCF’s Fellowship of Christian Athletes for the last two years and earned the Central Florida region’s MVP Award from the organization in the spring of 2014. She is a leader on the softball team and helped the Knights to the program’s first-ever regular season conference championship in 2014.

Community

Novak and the UCF Softball team are very involved with Friends of Jaclyn, a 501(c)(3), non-profit, charitable organization that improves the quality of life for children with pediatric brain tumors and their families. They adopted an honorary teammate through the FoJ Foundation in 2009 and provided her with access to the team and her own locker. Novak has participated with the Miracle League to assist handicap children playing baseball. She has assisted with two Special Olympics Winter Formals and has done arts and crafts with children at the medical kids clinic. She volunteers her time at softball camps and has participated in Race for a Cure and the Silent March in support of National Hazing Prevention.

Competition

Novak was an NFCA Mideast All-Region First Team selection in 2014. She ranked 29th nationally with 34 stolen bases in 2014, and she set a program record with five stolen bases in a game as a junior. Novak ranks in the top 10 on the UCF career records in seven categories including triples and stolen bases. She now holds the UCF Softball career record for stolen bases and is one of two players in school history with more than 100 thefts in her career
