Classroom

Katie Fraine will receive a bachelor’s degree in criminology from the University of Florida in December of 2010. She was a member of the 2006 Southeastern Conference Freshman Academic Honor Roll.

Character

Fraine is a member of Florida’s Leadership Committee (team discontinued captains after 2008 season and now uses Leadership Committee) heading into her senior year on the pitch.

Community

Fraine participated in more than 17 hours of Goodwill Gator (community service) activities during her Florida career, including helping on a Habitat for Humanity build, preparing and serving meals at a Gainesville homeless shelter, painting with Shands Hospital pediatric patients and preparing brownies at the Gainesville Ronald McDonald House.

Competition

A member of the 2010 Hermann Trophy watch list, Fraine was a 2009 All-Southeastern Conference first team selection and NSCAA All-South Region first team member. She participated in the June 2010 U.S. Under 23 National Team Camp in Carson, Calif. She was named goalkeeper for the first team on the 2009 TopDrawerSoccer.com National Team of the Season. She led the SEC in 2009 with her goals-against-average of 0.61 in league play and was named to the SEC All-Tournament team. Fraine was a consensus selection as goalkeeper for the three outlets that publish a national team of the week - Soccer America, TopDrawer Soccer.com and SoccerBuzz.com - following the Sept. 7, 2008, FSU match.
