Classroom

McBride owns a 3.521 as a civil engineering major and has been named to the Dean’s List in the College of Engineering each semester she has been enrolled at Marquette. She earned NSCAA Second Team Scholar All-America honors as well as NSCAA Scholar All-Central Region First Team accolades following the 2011 season.

Character

McBride is a tremendous young lady who shines through her character, sense of humor, tireless work ethic and drive to succeed. She emulates Marquette’s motto of “Cura Personalis,” or care for the whole person, and is someone who embodies the team spirit. A captain for the 2011 squad, McBride is not someone who asks for respect, but one who has earned it by the example she sets. She puts her team first and rarely acknowledges individual accolades. She is one of the most respected players on the team.

Community

McBride has been actively involved with several service organizations and volunteers not only on Marquette’s campus but also in the Milwaukee community. Throughout her career as a Marquette student-athlete she has helped to raise nearly $10,000 in support of breast cancer research through the team’s annual Cancer Awareness night and its Kicks Against Cancer initiative in 2009. A member of Marquette’s Student Athletic Advisory Committee (SAAC), McBride has also been involved with Marquette’s Cure for Kirby, Hunger Clean-Up, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metro Milwaukee, St. Vincent DePaul, and TOPSoccer.

Competition

A very versatile and intelligent player, McBride played in the midfield during the 2008 and 2009 seasons before serving as the team’s starting sweeper in 2010 where she helped lead Marquette to its second straight BIG EAST American Division title. She was named to the NSCAA/Performance Subaru All-America Third Team, honored as the BIG EAST Conference’s Defensive Player of the Year, along with earning All-BIG EAST First Team and NSCAA All-Northeast Region First Team accolades in 2010. McBride is defensive minded, but also has a knack for scoring goals. For her career, she owns three goals, including two game winners, and three assists. With McBride in the lineup, Marquette has won the BIG EAST American Division Championship in 2009 and 2010, and has made appearances in the NCAA Tournament each of the last three seasons, including a berth in the third round in 2010.
