Kyle MacDonald carries a 3.76 grade-point average as a member of the Schreyer Honors College. He is majoring in architectural engineering with an integrated undergraduate/graduate program and was accepted into the BIM Interdisciplinary Studio (Option: Structural). He spent seven weeks studying abroad in Rome, taking 12 credits of Architectural Studies. Also a member of the Penn State Student-Athlete Advisory Board, MacDonald is a member of the Penn State Structural Engineering Association and represented PSU at the AISC Steel Conference. He received the Architectural Engineering Merit Scholarship from 2012-15 and was named CoSIDA Academic All-District (2014), Academic All-Big Ten (2012-13) and a Big Ten Distinguished Scholar (2012-13).

Character

MacDonald is a member of Spiritus Leoninus Student-Athlete Honors Society, showing exemplary character, excellence, leadership and community service. He also earned the AP Scholar and Distinction Award in 2011, which values academic self-motivation.

Community

MacDonald volunteers at the Special Olympics 5K every year and was a YMS Summer Soccer Camp counselor for two years (2011-12) and trainer for four (2011-15). He also served as a camp counselor at Penn State Soccer Summer Camps from 2012 to 2014.

Competition

MacDonald has appeared in 46 matches, starting 18 for Penn State. His career goals have come in the Mack Brady Game in both 2013 and 2014, and he has four assists in his career. The offensive strike runs through him when he is out on the field, and he plays a significant role in getting the ball up the field for Penn State.
