Michael Amick has maintained a 3.612 GPA in biochemistry. He earned third-team Capital One Academic All-America Honors in 2015, as well as Academic All-District First Team honors in 2015. He is a two-time Pac-12 All-Academic selection and has made the UCLA Director’s Honor Roll six-times since his freshman year. He was named to the 2015-16 UCLA All-Academic Team for having the highest cumulative GPA on the men’s soccer team.

Character

A team captain since his sophomore season and UCLA’s center back, Amick is a leader both on and off the field.

Community

Amick has volunteered for several community service ventures, including UCLA’s I’m Going to College program, which offers thousands of elementary, middle and high school students a unique college athletics experience while spreading the message of the importance of higher education. He also has participated annually in the Adopt-A-Classroom program, corresponding with young students from a local classroom over the course of a season and encouraging them to excel in their studies.

Competition

Amick has been a standout performer since his freshman year when he earned first-team All-Freshman honors from Top Drawer Soccer and College Soccer News. As a sophomore, he was named to the NSCAA All-America Third Team, the College Soccer News All-America Second Team and the All-Pac 12 First Team. Amick led all UCLA field players in minutes played, logging 2,287 minutes in 24 starts. He led UCLA to the NCAA Championship game and was selected to the College Cup All-Tournament Team. In his junior season, Amick earned honorable mention All-Pac-12 honors and scored his first career goal. So far this season, Amick has played in every minute of every game for the Bruins.
