Classroom

Thomas carries a 3.431 cumulative grade point average as a psychology major. He is a three-time BIG EAST Academic All-Star. In 2008, he was selected to the NSCAA/adidas Men’s College Scholar All-America third team.

Character

Thomas is a two-time team captain, being selected as both a junior and senior. He provides a good example to his teammates by putting forth 100 percent on the field and in the weight room. He is not afraid to speak up when he feels something isn’t being done right.

Community

A regular participant along with his teammates, Thomas is active in community service projects in the South Bend community, volunteering his time to help people of all age ranges. Over the past three years, Thomas and his teammates have invited children to visit Notre Dame for a day to play with the team. Team members instruct the children, play with them and sign autographs.

Competition

Thomas was a 2008 all-BIG EAST second team pick during his junior season and was the leading midfielder scorer in the BIG EAST in 2008 by tallying eight goals and 21 points. He was selected to the all-Great Lakes Region second team in 2008 and named the 2008 Mike Berticelli Memorial Tournament Offensive MVP after helping to lead the Irish to the tournament title. He has played in 60 career games, including 58 starts and has compiled 33 points on 13 goals and seven assists, helping Notre Dame to back-to-back BIG EAST regular-season titles. He is also a key reason why the Irish have qualified for the NCAA Tournament the past three seasons, including quarterfinal appearances in 2006 and 2007.
