Classroom

Wall graduated from Notre Dame’s College of Engineering in May of 2014 with a degree in aerospace engineering. He finished his undergraduate career with a 3.295 cumulative GPA and he currently is taking graduate courses. Wall was named to the dean’s list for the spring 2014 semester. He was selected to the 2013 All-ACC Academic Team and was a three-time BIG EAST Academic All-Star (2010-12).

Character

In the summer of 2013, Wall worked for a company called L-3 Communications as a subcontractor for NASA working on the Orion spacecraft. While doing the internship at NASA, he also trained with the Houston Dynamo of Major League Soccer. Wall would train with the Dynamo from 8 a.m.-noon and then work from 1-7 p.m. at NASA’s Johnson Space Center. Wall was the 2013 aerospace representative for Notre Dame’s Joint Engineering Council and he has been a member of the Notre Dame Texas Club since 2010.

Community

Wall and the entire Notre Dame program is heavily involved in Grassroot Soccer (GRS), which is an international non-governmental organization that uses the power of soccer to educate, inspire and mobilize communities against the spread of HIV. Earlier this summer, the team took a three-week trip to Zimbabwe and in addition to competing in games they took part in mission work for GRS and held clinics for the local youth. Last year, the Notre Dame program took part in the Fight for Life program and helped a child who has cancer. Wall has been involved with the Monroe Park Food Co-op, which helps the South Bend food shelter. He also is a four-year member of Men Against Violence, a club at Notre Dame.

Competition

Last season, Wall played every minute in goal for the Irish and posted 10 shutouts to go along with a 0.71 goals-against average and a .804 save percentage. He notched a 17-1-6 record and made 74 saves and allowed just 18 goals en route to helping Notre Dame win its first national title. Wall was selected to the 2013 National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) All-South Atlantic Region Third Team. He has played in 35 career matches, including 34 starts, and boasts a 26-2-6 record with 13 shutouts. Wall has a 0.79 goals-against average during his career to go along with a .791 career save percentage. He has made 106 saves while surrendering 28 goals and has earned three monograms. He was named to the 2013 BIG EAST Championship All-Tournament Team after helping the Fighting Irish to the league title.
