Community
Boyce has played an integral role as a leader of the men’s lacrosse program’s community service initiatives. He volunteers at Hasbro Children’s Hospital every Wednesday during the offseason. In addition, he helped the program raise money for “Kids Vs. Cancer,” which is another initiative linked with Hasbro Children’s Hospital. The Friar lacrosse program also hosts a free coaches clinic for local coaches, and Boyce has been a part of those clinics over the past few seasons.
Competition
Boyce has started all 48 of the Friars’ games in net since stepping on campus as a freshman. He holds a 9.43 goals-against average, a .541 save percentage and has made 525 total saves in his career. The senior goalkeeper is a three-time All-Big EAST First Team selection, one of just two players in program history to earn this distinction. Boyce was also named Big EAST Goalkeeper of the Year in 2017. In that same season, he picked up USILA/Nike third-team All-America honors and Inside Lacrosse honorable mention All-America accolades, as well. Entering the 2018 season, he was selected to the Preseason Tewaaraton Watch List. At the conclusion of last season, he was named to the NEILA All-New England Second Team.
Boyce helped the Friars reach the BIG EAST Championship game for the first time in program history in 2017. During that season, he ranked sixth in the nation in goals-against average (8.05) and save percentage (.569). The 10 wins in the 2017 season tied a program record.
