Zach Ashford maintains a 3.34 GPA in kinesiology exercise science. He is a three-time Academic All-Mountain West selection (2016, 2017, 2018) and was a 2016 Mountain West Scholar-Athlete.
Character
A four-year Bulldog, Ashford is the team leader for Fresno State baseball, as he is not only one of the more talented players on the team, but also one of the hardest-working and team-first student-athletes. He puts team and teammates above himself and is always willing to sacrifice for the betterment of Fresno State and the team.
Community
Ashford has volunteered at the Walk to End Alzheimer’s and with Team Smile and Toys 4 Tots.
Competition
Ashford was named 2018 Second Team All-Mountain West selection. He reached base in 53 of 54 games in 2018, including reaching base in each of the ‘Dogs first 45 games. Ashford tied for 10th in the MW with 77 hits and 18 doubles in 2018.
