Projected to graduate in August 2007 with a Communications degree. Would like to work in the media after he graduates. Currently has a 3.00 GPA. Athletic Directors Scholar-Athlete & Big East Academic All-Star.

Character

He has overcome obstacles by turning himself into an NBA First Round pick through hard work and dedication. He lost over 40 pounds from his freshman season (310 to 270) and dropped his percentage of body fat. The minute the team returned from the NCAA Tournament in both 2005 and 2006, Aaron was back in the weight room working out in preparation for next year. Is a fantastic citizen in Pittsburgh and the face of the Pitt Basketball Program.

Community

Involved in 2005 & 2006 WTAE Healthy 4 Life Diabetes Expo where he attended fundraiser for the Diabetes Association and signed autographs, Children’s Hospital Visit spent time in the recreation room with patients; played games and participated in arts and crafts activities. Participated in Katrina Fundraiser at a Notre Dame Football Game where he signed autographs to raise money, Panther PAWS (Pitt Athletes Working with Students) team conducted mini camp for local youth and discussed the dangers of alcohol and drug use, YMCA Healthy Kids Day spent time with youth participants, encouraging them to live healthy life styles.

2006-07 Naismith and Wooden Award All-America candidate, Big East Preseason Player of the Year. 2005-06 Big East Most Improved Player, All-Big East First Team selection, Big East rebounding champion (10.5 rpg), Big East All-Tournament selection.
