Classroom

A.J. has earned a 4.001 cumulative grade point average which, at West Point, measures a cadet’s overall academic, military and physical performance combined. He is majoring in American Politics with Honors and is a member of the West Point Scholarship Program. A.J. is a candidate for both the Rhodes and Marshall Scholarships and has already interviewed for the Rotary Ambassadorial Foundation Scholarship. A finalist for the Truman Scholarship, he is a member of Phi Kappa Phi national collegiate honor society and Pi Sigma Alpha political science honor society. He was a Second-Team Academic All-American last year and three-time Patriot League Honor Roll recipient.

Character

Glubzinski was voted 2008-09 team captain. He was named a Platoon Sergeant, responsible for the accountability, discipline and training of 30 cadets for the 2008-09 academic year. Appointed Company Commander for Cadet Basic Training, he will oversee the moral and ethical development of 193 incoming cadets Glubzinski also runs the weekly team Bible study group and is active in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

Community

A.J. interned with a social outreach program called “First Helping” during the summer of 2008, serving daily meals and providing social services to homeless and low-income individuals in the greater Washington D.C. Area. He runs bi-annual Army Youth Soccer Clinic for kids in the West Point area and works with Habitat for Humanity in his hometown of Detroit. He also volunteers with Young Life of Urban and Metro Detroit and aspires to eventually be the Mayor of Detroit.

Competition

Glubzinski compiled a 7-6-1 record, including six shutouts, in 14 starts and over 1,263 minutes played in 2007. He ranked among the Patriot League leaders with a 0.93 goals against average and a .800 save percentage. He also started 10 games during his sophomore year, finishing with a 7-3 record and has been the starting goalie for both of Army’s wins over Navy the past two seasons.
