She has helped her team earn their ninth-straight AVCA Academic Award this past year in 2018. In 2017, she also helped the Bucs receive NCAA APR recognition.

Character

Lux demonstrated leadership from the first time she stepped onto ETSU’s campus, so it was a natural transition to be named as one of the team captains. She is a fantastic communicator and is able to articulate her thoughts and beliefs to the team with respect and knowledge. She is a very competitive player on the court and loves to celebrate the accomplishments of her teammates with fist pumps of triumph. Off the court she is a relaxed person who loves to talk to anyone about anything.

Community

Lux has volunteered countless hours at the Salvation Army, and she has spent time at the Niswonger Children’s Hospital, along with spending time at an animal shelter. She has also taken time to visit with children at the Mountain View Elementary School in Johnson City, Tenn.

Competition

Lux saw time on the court in 25 matches for the Bucs as a freshman. She was named a first-team All-SoCon honoree and to the DoubleTree Hotel Buccaneer Challenge All-Tournament Team during her sophomore year. She ended her sophomore season with an attack percentage of .332, ranking fourth-best in a single-season in ETSU history. During her junior year she appeared in 110 sets and was third on the team in kills per set and total kills. She was named to the Preseason All-SoCon Team and named to the Appalachian Invitational All-Tournament Team.

Lux has had a great start to her senior season recording double-digit kills in most matches so far this season. She’s second on the team in kills and kills per set and has played a major role in ETSU’s offensive success.

She helped lead the Bucs to their first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2012 after the Bucs won the 2017 Southern Conference title.
