At Stanford, Williams has maintained a 3.43 GPA as he pursues aa degree management science & engineering. He is one track to graduate at the end of the year and has been named to the PAC-12 Academic Honor Roll twice.

Once Williams has finished his career in baseball, he plans to work in finance.

Character

Williams, who has assumed the Friday starter role this year, is one of the team’s leaders. Stanford relies heavily on their young pitchers and Williams takes pride in being able to lead them. His peers look to him for leadership one and off the field.

In 2020, Williams had Tommy John Surgery and worked tirelessly to get back to form for the next year. He contributed valuable innings during the Cardinal’s 2021 CWS as the No. 2 starter. Williams had to rehab at home without an athletic trainer but put in the work and returned.

His has improved his leadership skills tremendously by understanding his role as a teammate when he’s not on the mound.

Community

In his first two seasons at Stanford, Williams volunteered with the Miracle League and participated in visits to children’s hospitals. He has also worked at baseball camps, where he helps develop the youth in the area.

While at home in Castro Valley, California, Williams has volunteered at his local church leading a youth bible study for children ages 4-12.

Competition

Williams is one of Stanford’s most competitive players. He has been a key member of the rotation since his first season, when he earned Freshman All-America recognition. He currently owns a career 4.00 strikeout-to-walk ratio.

Williams is 4-0 with a 2.37 ERA in four career postseason starts. In 2019, Williams tossed a complete game in the postseason against Sacramento State and also pitched a shutout against Texas Tech to punch the Cardinal’s ticket to the 2021 CWS.

For his career, Williams has appeared in 30 games and made 25 starts. He owns a 16-4 record with a 2.58 ERA and has limited opponents to a .206 BAA.
