Alyssa Cacini

Classroom

Cacini carries a 3.48 GPA as she pursues completion of her public relations degree. She was named a 2020-21 Easton/NFCA All-American Scholar and has been named to both the A-10 Commissioner’s Honor Roll and UD Dean’s List three times.

Character

Cacini was voted to be a member of Dayton’s Leadership Council by her peers. She is highly respected by those around her and was voted the 2018 Freshman of the Year by Dayton Athletics.

She also experienced an arm injury last season and took on the challenge of learning a new position, going from shortstop to first and second base.

Community

Cacini has demonstrated her ability to be a leader in her hometown and near campus. She is a member of Dayton’s Student-Athlete Advisory Committee Executive Board, where she serves as the social media coordinator and is also a conference representative.

Cacini has also volunteered with the Dayton Miracle League, Habitat for Humanity, Shoes 4 the Shoeless, and Feed My Starving Children. In addition to working with those organizations, she has served as an instructor for young softball players since high school.

Competition

Cacini enjoyed a fantastic season last year. She started in every game but one and tallied eight home runs on 45 hits and 33 RBI. Cacini was named to the NFCA All-Region third team, A-10 All-Conference first team, and the A-10 All-Championship team.

She currently ranks fifth in program history in SLG (.565) and will look to add to her career marks this season.
